The GW Virginia Campus Art Exhibit Series
Presented in cooperation with the Loudoun Arts Council, The GW
Virginia Campus Art Exhibit Series features a wide array of juried
fine arts and fine crafts by local artists. Each exhibit is on display
for approximately six weeks in our Gallery Lounge. A "Call for Artists"
is sent out in the spring, with the annual exhibit series beginning the
fall and ending in mid-summer. For each exhibit, the GW Virginia Campus
hosts a "Meet the Artist(s)" reception. Both the exhibits and receptions
are open to the public, free-of-charge.
The Arts Advisory Committee, comprised of artists, professors, art
historians, gallery owners, journalists, art teachers and GW Virginia
Campus representatives, serves as the jury. In addition to reviewing
applications and selecting artists to be featured, the jury finalizes
the annual exhibit schedule.
Each year, the exhibit calendar includes three special exhibits to
showcase works by students from Loudoun County Public Schools, members
of the Loudoun Sketch Club, and GW faculty, students and alumni,
respectively. Some of the other artists that are included in the
Art Exhibit Series for 2001-2002 are:
- The Corcoran College of Art and Design Alumni Association
- 10-Year Special Anniversary Show - this program will present artists
that have exhibited at the Virginia Campus over the past ten years
