The GW Virginia Campus Community Outreach Programs
Since opening in August 1991, The George Washington University Virginia
Campus has offered popular arts, cultural and civic programs to the community,
attracting audiences from throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the
District of Columbia. These initiatives have included jazz
festivals, chamber music concerts, fiction and poetry readings,
coffeehouses, art exhibits, lectures and discussions, and more.
To present these programs, the University has partnered with many businesses.
As well, civic and arts organizations, including the
Loudoun County Visitors Association,The Loudoun Arts Council and The Amadeus Concerts, Inc. have collaborated to present
numerous events of broad community appeal. Several of these programs have
been partially supported by grants from Loudoun County government and the Virginia
Commission for the Arts.
Our goal is to bring the outstanding resources of GW faculty members
and students to you, often matching them with other talented people who live
and work in the region. In this fashion, we provide an important
partnership between the University and the community to enhance the
quality of life in Northern Virginia.
Many of these programs, such as
The Art Exhibit Series and the
Public Policy Forum, have received resounding praise from audiences for originality,
creativity and impact. We thank our sponsors for their valuable support.
