A selection of fifty-three beautiful nature photographs will be on display through July 27, 2013 at the GW Virginia Science & Technology Campus at Innovation Hall, 45085 University Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147.The exhibit is free and open to the public.

The fifty-three images form a traveling exhibit of the very best photos selected from over 750 entries by Northern Virginia photographers for the 2012 Nature Visions Photo Expo.

Since 2002, members of the Reston Photographic Society and five other area clubs have organized this annual Expo. The Expo includes an exhibition of approximately 300 juried nature images by members of six clubs: the Loudoun Photographic Society, the Manassas-Warrenton Camera Club, the McLean Photo Club, the Northern Virginia Photographic Society, the Reston Photographic Society and the Vienna Photographic Society. The winning selections include photos by Loudoun Photography Club members Charlotte Arnold, Geff Bourke, Jonathan Fabich, Bob Hayward, Art Hughes, Ross Konigsburg, Michelle Moomey and Carol Tharp.

10th District Congressional Art Show

The university, in partnership with U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., hosted the 10th District Congressional Art Show March 29 through April 20, 2012. The exhibit, on display at the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus featured 260 works by 167 area high school students, representing 24 schools throughout the 10th Congressional District. Geographic representation included Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Frederick, Loudoun, Prince William, Warren, and Winchester counties and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. MORE

GW Alumni Artists Exhibit on Campus
In Celebration of the Campus’ 20-Year Anniversary

Photographs by four distinguished GW Alumni artists, Pamela Habholz Davis – MFA ‘06, Johnston Grindstaff – MFA ‘01, Rick McCleary – MFA ‘82, and Claudia Smigrod – MFA ‘78, are featured in the GW 20th Anniversary Alumni Regional Artist Series Winter 2011 Exhibit at the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus. The exhibit features a unique mixture of realistic and abstract photographs by the four photographers.

The artist reception is Thursday, December 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the First Floor Gallery of Enterprise Hall, and is open to the public. The exhibit is on display through Feb. 28, 2012. Congressional Exhibit Artists Exhibit

10th District artwork submissions to the annual Congressional Art Competition sponsored by the US House of Representatives, Rep. Frank Wolf, are on display in Enterprise Hall through April 28. The national competition, featuring works from high school students, includes all congressional districts in the nation. Each district selects a Best in Show that will hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year. Awards to be announced April 14, 7 p.m. at the opening reception by Rep. Frank Wolf. Caricature Artist Mike Caplanis Exhibits on Campus

  • Jazz musicians, literary figures, artists, and politicians take a good needling from regional artist Mike Caplanis in the exhibit, Pens & Needles. Caplanis began drawing caricatures of civil war generals and statesmen which were later published in the 1999 book Drawn to the Civil War, John F. Blair, publisher. Many caricatures followed and continue to spring from his imagination. His drawings skewer players from history and politics, literature and science, the living and the dead, the good and the bad.
