This workshop will provide participants with the skills needed to create and strengthen letters, memos and proposals with persuasive writing techniques.  Topics include: how to identify the audience you are writing to for maximum impact, avoiding grammar and punctuation errors, commonly misused words, editing techniques, and proofreading.

The summit will focus on higher education strategies to meet the future workforce needs of Loudoun County and the greater Northern Virginia region. The keynote speaker for this event is Virginia Secretary of Education, Belle Wheelan, Ph.D.  Loudoun County Superintendent of Public Schools, Edgar B. Hatrick, Ed.D. will moderate.

The GW Virginia Campus is hosting the Northern Virginia Technology Council's fifth annual Tech Talk. Tech Talk is an opportunity for high school students to learn how technology has changed the way we work and to experiment with a number of careers through university-sponsored workshops. Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings: Free Course for Everyone
READI will be offering a FREE awareness level course Thursday, July 22nd from 5PM – 9PM at The George Washington University Virginia Campus (in Ashburn). AWR130 – Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings is a course for everyone. This course includes classroom presentations that address potential terrorist targets in U.S. communities, common military and commercial explosives (available to terrorists), improvised explosive devices, and response procedures that support safe and effective operations during bomb incidents. Exhibit Work at GW Virginia Campus

"Discover Loudoun's Young Artists," the Loudoun County Public Schools student art show series, is hosted by The George Washington University Virginia Campus. The fall exhibit features two-dimensional, mixed-media works by approximately 50 student artists from Forest Grove Elementary School, Harper Park Middle School, and Heritage High School. The show continues through December 8, 2003. The exhibit is in the Academic Building 1 Gallery, 20101 Academic Way in Ashburn. Gallery Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
