The Higher Education Administration Doctoral Program seeks a diverse cohort of 10-15 students. In addition to the published GSEHD admissions standards, HEAP considers personal and work experiences, career goals, and writing samples in making final selections. Factors such as proven leadership performance and a professional career focus are as important as past academic success and will be integrated into the final admissions decision. Other factors to consider:
- You must have a Master’s Degree to be considered for admission to the HEA doctoral Program
- We require that students submit scores for the GRE or MAT taken within the last 5 years
- A minimum of a 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in all previous graduate work is also required
- Career and leadership success including consistency and achievement are of particular interest to program faculty
- Students' career focus is important in order to assure a motivated cohort with high aspirations
- References that suggest excellent personal and professional qualities may be particularly helpful for admissions
