GWorld Card

The GWorld Card is the official identification card of The George Washington University for all students, faculty and staff members. Students must be registered for classes in order to obtain a GWorld Card.

The GWorld Card is required for access to the Virginia campus building and to request library materials through the Virginia campus library.

Students attending the Virginia campus may wish to get a GWorld card for the following reasons:
  • To enter the Gelman Library or other university libraries and to check out materials in person. Also, many of the sessions of the "Dissertation Support Group" run by the Higher Education Association meet in the IMMC in the basement of Gelman Library. You would need a GWorld Card to enter the library to attend these sessions
  • To purchase tickets to events at Lisner Auditorium at student rates
  • To purchase tickets to GWired Events

Although GWorld Cards can only be obtained at the Marvin Center (Rm 501) on the Foggy Bottom campus, at the beginning of each academic year the Higher Education Administration program will make every effort to bring the GWorld office to the Virginia Campus to facilitate the process of obtaining a GWorld card. In order to get a GWorld Card students must be registered for classes and they should bring a picture ID (Driver’s License or Passport). For further information on th GWorld card visit the GWorld Office.
