HIGH-TECH LEADERS AND NATIONALLY RENOWNED BROADBAND EXPERTS DISCUSS "THE INTERNET REVOLUTION" AT GW'S VIRGINIA CAMPUS, MAY 14
EVENT: "The Internet Revolution" is the topic of a two-panel discussion, co-sponsored by the Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA) and hosted by The George Washington University Virginia Campus and GW's Executive Master of Information Systems and Executive Master of Business Administration programs. The first panel addresses how and when broadband will reach the 'last mile' to the consumer followed by a second panel discussion on how to protect audio and video property rights on the Internet without compromising the Internet itself.

Forum participants include:
Panel Moderator: John Flannery, Esq., visiting executive, GW's Graduate School of Business and Public Management
Panel I Bandwidth: Greg Waddell, program director for e-Commerce policy, IBM; Rob Atkinson, vice president and director, The Progressive Policy Institute; Dr. Joseph N. Pelton, Director of GW's Accelerated Program in Telecommunications and Computers and Research; Steve Ryan, partner, Manatt Phelps; Jonathan Band, partner, Morrison & Forester; and Peter Jacoby, vice president of government relations, AT&T.

BACKGROUND:

The GW Virginia Campus serves an international technology and management community from its research and graduate education center near Dulles International Airport in the Northern Virginia technology corridor. Since opening in August 1991, the campus has grown from modest beginnings with 50 acres, 200 enrollments, and $50,000 in funded research to a strong, vigorous cluster of academic programs with over 3,000 enrollments, 90 acres, and funded research that tops $28 million.
