GW AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL PARTNER ON REGION'S FIRST TECHNOLOGY TIME CAPSULE
Dedication Ceremony Held at "Fast Forward 02: GW Technology and Business Expo," April 24

Ashburn, VA - The George Washington University Virginia Campus in Ashburn, Va., and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) in Herndon, Va., are partnering to create the region's first Technology Time Capsule, in celebration of the region's prominence in the technology industry and the 10-year anniversaries of both organizations.

"We are excited to be partnering with NVTC to create a Technology Time Capsule that truly represents the 'Who's Who' in technology in Northern Virginia," said John S. Wilson, executive dean of the GW Virginia Campus, GW's research and technology campus strategically located in Northern Virginia's technology community. "We've already received donations from some of our area's most prominent technology companies. We hope all technology companies will seize this chance to be a part of regional tech history."

"The Technology Time Capsule provides companies in this region with a great opportunity to showcase their state-of-the-art technologies that capture the essence of why Northern Virginia is such an important technology center. We are pleased to partner with The George Washington University on this exciting project," said Bobbie Kilberg, NVTC president.

All regional technology companies are invited to participate by donating a product, device, software, brochure, or white paper that represents their company's state-of-the-art technology in 2002. Items will be collected at "Fast Forward 02: the GW Technology and Business Expo, Wednesday," April 24 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the GW Virginia Campus. The Time Capsule will be dedicated at 4:30 p.m. at a special ceremony at the Expo and will be reopened in the future. All participating companies will be recognized on a special Technology Time Capsule website and a Contributors Board. The Time Capsule will be on display at GW and NVTC and other selected sites throughout the region.

The GW Tech Expo - now in its 10th year - attracts hundreds of senior technology and business leaders from the Washington, D.C. technology community and the federal government to the GW Virginia Campus to celebrate the latest in technology. It has become a gathering place for the regional tech elite to share ideas and solutions, to discuss technological innovation, and to meet new business partners.
