Jesse B. Wilson, III, a foundation trustee and a resident of Purcellville, Va., will present the $15,000 donation to LEIP representatives at the Waterford Elementary School at 1:15 on Wednesday, April 17, 2002. Representatives from LEIP and the Loudoun County Sanitation Authority will be at the Waterford Elementary School providing presentations to the third grade class on water conservation. The Loudoun County Environmental Indicators Project began in 1998 with the support of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. It also has broad-based community and private sector support, which enables scientists from The George Washington University to monitor and analyze the changes to the Loudoun environment occasioned by the rapid rate of development. The project is now in its fourth year of a five-year study. Founded in 1987, the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation's mission is to enhance educational opportunities, including higher education, for young people in the Commonwealth of Virginia and elsewhere. Recent contributions include annual support for the Loudoun County Literacy Council and Loudoun County Public Schools Alcohol-Free Graduation Parties. Major contributions have also been made to the Claude Moore Colonial Farm Park at Turkey Run, Claude Moore Heritage Farm Park, National Capital Area Council of Boy Scouts America and $3 million to the National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center at Washington Dulles International Airport.
