ASHBURN,VA - Dr. Jack P. London, CEO and chairman of the board of CACI International, Inc. and GW alumnus, has received the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) award for "CEO of the Year." The award was presented to London during a class visit with EMBA students at GW's Virginia Campus on April 18. London met with first- and second-year GW EMBA students and gave an hour presentation on "Leadership and Accountability" as part of the EMBA Speaker Series. He provided many examples of a CEO's role, citing integrity as a crucial component. "As CEO, you are fully accountable," London said. "You are the captain of the corporate ship, and though you may be an expert navigator, there are always hidden shoals and unexpected storms. It's up to you to safely guide the ship." London has received several other awards including the GW Alumni of the Year award (1987), KPMG Peat Marwick High Tech Entrepreneur Award (1995) and GW Alumni Achievement Award (1996). He is very involved with the business community, participating on several boards such as the Senior Advisory Board for the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Advisory Council for the GW School of Business and Public Management, Board of Advisors at Marymount University and the Board of the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. and received an M.S. in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School. London earned a doctoral degree (1971) from the GW School of Business and Public Management.
