| INDEPENDENCE AIR/ACA CEO TO RECEIVE “CEO OF THE YEAR” AWARD FROM GW’S EXECUTIVE MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM March 29, 2004 (ASHBURN, VA) – The George Washington University’s Executive Master of Business Administration Program (EMBA) has named Kerry Skeen, chairman and CEO of Independence Air/Atlantic Coast Airlines (Nasdaq: ACAI), its 2004 “CEO of the Year.” Skeen will accept the award during a class visit with EMBA students at GW’s Virginia Campus on Friday, April 2. “We chose Kerry Skeen for this award because without a doubt, he is one of the most visionary leaders in the Washington, D.C. region,” said Robert Dyer, director of the EMBA program. “Under Skeen’s leadership, Atlantic Coast Airlines has witnessed remarkable growth, from a tiny turboprop operation with a few dozen employees into the new Independence Air operation, which will be creating the largest low-fare hub in the country right here in Northern Virginia.” Skeen is actively involved in the Loudoun/Northern Virginia business community, participating on several boards, including the GW Virginia Campus Advisory Board, Loudoun Healthcare and the Loudoun Economic Development Commission. He is one of the co-founders of Atlantic Coast Airlines and has been with the company since 1989. He was named chairman of the board in 2000. Independence Air/Atlantic Coast Airlines is one of Loudoun’s leading employers, with more than 4,100 employees, about 65 percent of whom are currently based in Northern Virginia. The company also has locations and facilities along the East Coast, from Maine to Florida.
