IPO Start-Up Course Offered Fall 2004 at ASHBURN, VA—A special topics course, “From Lab to IPO: A Hi-Tech Start-Up,” is being offered this fall at The George Washington University Virginia Campus. Intended for entrepreneurs and strategic thinkers, especially those in engineering and technology, the course covers practical and legal issues in taking a great idea and turning it into a successful hi-tech or biotech company. Course topics are: venture/angel capital; patents, copyrights, and
trademarks; trade secrets and licensing agreements; partnerships, corporations,
and LLCs; the IPO process; federal and state securities law; and government
programs for start-ups. This course is offered as open enrollment and
is available to anyone, including those not currently enrolled at the
